Egypt, a country linking northeast Africa with the Middle East, dates to the time of the pharaohs. Millennia-old monuments sit along the fertile Nile River Valley, including Giza's colossal Pyramids and Great Sphinx as well as Luxor's hieroglyph-lined Karnak Temple and Valley of the Kings tombs.
Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast proceed for a half day (4hrs) city tour. You will be taken to the Pyramids located on the west bank of the Nile near Cairo. The Egyptian Pyramids (entrance fee not included) are the oldest and only surviving member of the Ancient Wonders. Next you will visit the famous Sphinx which, carved from the bedrock of the Giza plateau, demonstrates a mysterious marvel from the days of ancient Egypt. With the body of a lion and the head of a king or god, the Sphinx has become a symbol of strength and wisdom. You will then be transferred back to your hotel where the tour ends.
